Scottsdale, Arizona - TASER International, Inc. (Nasdaq:TASR), the market leader in advanced electronic control devices, announced that the United States Court of Appeals for the Eleventh Circuit affirmed the order for summary judgment granted to TASER International by the United States District Court for the Northern District of Georgia in the case of Wilson v. TASER International.
In addition, the United States Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit affirmed the District Court's summary judgment for TASER dismissing Bestex's counterclaims and affirmed the District Court's ruling denying Bestex's motion for a continuance in the case of TASER International v. Bestex Company, Inc.
"We are very pleased that both of these appeals have been resolved in our favor," said Doug Klint, Vice President and General Counsel of TASER International. "It should be noted that the United States Court of Appeals for the Eleventh Circuit in the Wilson appeal held that plaintiffs presented no admissible expert testimony about either a probable or possible causal relation between the TASER device exposure and Wilson's injury. It also affirmed the decision of the District Court's action to excluding Plaintiff's expert Dr. Edward E. Meier, opinions regarding causation as unreliable and inadmissible," concluded Klint. |
